Data Matrix has been with us all for over 15 years but is only now coming into regular use. Data Matrix is a set of 'dots' set in a square or rectangular formation. Data Matrix allows us to use a lot more data over the traditional barcode formats. Data Matrix allows is also far smaller in scale, there by assisting in label and packaging design. These 'dots' can be read by Barcode scanners or vision cameras.
Leafus, Cofuex and Vision Automation are just some of the leading vision companies that we have worked with. full sample trials and scanning readability would be carried out in the early stages of a project.

There is a low tolerance associated with 2D/Data Matrix codes which make it the ideal choice for product coding.

Bar Code Validation

The dimno C-Series Bar code Validation Kit - an application of the C-Series Interface Assistant. Designed to guarantee the highest quality and most accurate bar codes recognised throughout the industry.
Benefits:

Error Prevention
eliminates the risk of incurring large fines by the distribution centres for product codes that fail to scan. Configurable percentage acceptance values detect any poor codes and warns of a reduction in code quality.M

Clear alarm status minimises the risk of codes being printed that do not scan, ensuring that distribution centres have 100% scan ability

Greater Control
Automatic Printer Purge minimises operator intervention to maintain constant code quality and reduce the chance of dissatisfied customers.

Increased flexibility
The Learn and Compare feature ensures that the correct bar code has been applied to the product, thereby eliminating incorrect coding, and giving peace of mind.

Simple to Use
The auto-set up of the scanner and simple configuration interface eliminates complicated and costly installation and fault finding procedures.

Main Features:
  • Configurable bar code quality tolerance levels to trigger the appropriate warning events.
  • The warning events can be set to auto-purge the printer, flash the warning beacon and activate the line-stop function
  • Tower beacon to clearly indicate code read status. Green signals a good code read, amber a poor read and red a failure. The blue beacon indicates that the device is learning a code
  • When in compare mode, warning output will signal that the scanned code does not match the expected code. This eliminates incorrectly coded products entering the distribution chain.

Interface Assistant

The interface assistnat can be used in busy industrial applications to provide easy integration of the C-Series printers with other control equipment. It provides an enhanced interface between the C-Series and devices such as PLC's and RFID readers and writers.

Main features

  • Binary message selection. Over 100 messages within the printer can be selected by remote electrical inputs.
  • External data capture. Connects to other intelligent devices enabling variable information such as data strings and weights to be printed onto products
  • Low ink-level warning. Using the beacon, the interface assistant can transmit the low ink-level warning signal from the C-Series ink base and provide an effective visual warning of the ink status.
  • Remote counter reset. When used with computer-generated messages, pressing the reset button will zero the printed counter - ideal for tracing production quantities.
  • also includes an internal, non-volatile data storage area, an auto-ranging power supply, a relay output and NPN or PNP input / outputs

21 CFR11 Part 2 - Gamp

Domino now offers Gamp and 21 CFR11 Part 2 product certification for the CIJ and laser range. These can be purchased with a new machine or as a retrofit for existing machines. Our engineers are trained to carry out the procedures and this can generally be done in a day

XYZ Movement

Codico can assist in the design of XYZ movement for our printing heads or the products we wish to code. This can allow us to print a lot of information on one product or multiple products. We can work with PLC controllers and pneumatic and mechanical cylinders with programmable stepper motors.

Technology

There are many technologies for making a product but we specialise in:
  • Continuous Inkjet
  • Drop on Demand Inkjet
  • Dot Matrix Laser
  • Scribing Laser
  • Binary Inkjet
  • Thermal Transfer
  • Hot Foil

Track and Trace | Electronic Product Codes

Codico is now working very closely with Domino's Integrated Solutions Group to bring to the Irish market a total Track and Trace Solution to gaurantee a products authenticity and to know where it is in the suppply chain.
Working with GS1 (Global Standards One Ireland) we are now in a position to quote for the most difficult integrated solutions. These can incorporate Lasers, Inkjet, Thermal Transfer, Vision Cameras, Software, Web and Mobile Architecture; all to track and trace your product from raw material to end user.
We can harness the mobile phone technology to photograph and read a data matrix code, upload the information to a server, and get an immediate response to confirm that the product is either an original or a fake and where it should be in the supply chain.
